Sales Engineer

Providing pre-sales support to the CloudSense  sales process including building and presenting demonstrations, presenting product feature / benefit pitches, advising on CRM and ordering solution architecture and responding to the functional and technical sections of RFP, RFI.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing direct support to the sales process to expedite the winning of deals
  • Presentation of product features and benefits and related subject matter to customer and partner audiences
  • Positioning / presentation of CSOM in a broader context of general CloudSense company profile and capabilities
  • Presentation of standard CSOM / Salesforce demos to customer and partner audiences
  • Implementation and presentation of tailored (configured and customised) CSOM / Salesforce demos to customer and partner audiences
  • An expert in functional and technical aspects of CSOM / Salesforce, providing advice, recommendations and answers to general queries regarding CSOM / Salesforce (in general but specifically in assistance of the sales process)
  • Analysis of customer requirements for order management, sales process and related aspects and specify high level solutions for the purposes of:
    • General assistance with RFx
    • Presentation back to the customer as part of the sales process
    • Serving as a basis / rationale for sales proposal documents prepared by sales managers
  • Communication of key customer requirements to delivery and product management
  • Training Sales staff to deliver first call presentations of various standard demos

Competencies, knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including English)
  • Customer facing skills including the ability to present complex technical capabilities and solutions
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritizing and managing own workload to deliver quality results under high pressure
  • Some form of programming competency and an understanding of relational database concepts
  • Experience with enterprise-scale software such as CRM, ERP and Billing
  • Preferably, experience with order management systems, CRM and sales processes, especially in the telecommunications or media industries
  • Salesforce skills advantageous but not essential
  • Technical skills of interest include Apex, Visualforce, Javascript, HTML and Java
  • Solution architecture and technical design skills are advantageous as are business process modeling and integration technologies exposure
  • Prior experience in a pre-sales / sales engineering role would be advantageous as would experience in building rapid prototypes / demos / proofs of concept
  • Additional languages (German, French and Spanish in particular) are helpful

Candidates at various levels and experience, with regards to the above specification, will be considered for junior and senior positions.

The role requires the ability to travel on a pre-sales basis (i.e. including occasional overnight / multi-day visits).
